What is the affiliation status of the school?

Askari Universal School is a CBSE affiliated (No. 430554) school which is in a huge 6-acre lush green campus on the National Highway at Kanodar, Palanpur We have got the registration and the UDISE number which means that the school is officially recognized by the education department.

What will be the class strength?
Pre-Primary Section: Maximum 25 students/Class, Senior section Class I to XII: Maximum 40 students/Class.

Do you have all the pre requites for affiliation?

Yes, we have all the pre-requites like space, classroom size, activities, trained teachers, salaries, PF, Lift & Ramp, CWSN Toilets, Computer Lab, Physics Lab, Biology Lab, Chemistry Lab, Maths Lab, Composite Lab,  fantastic infrastructure etc.

What is a qualification of teachers?

As the school is CBSE Affiliated, all the teachers are trained & qualified as per Govt & CBSE norms in addition to being proficient in English Language, use of Teaching learning Methodology & use of technology in education. However we always look for teachers who are enthusiastic about being around children. People who are compassionate in approach and have the patience to deal with young ones and are learners themselves are scrutinized during the selection process.

What is the difference between the two boards ICSE and CBSE?

ICSE – Indian Certificate of Secondary Education brought by the Anglo Indian Community (later 50s) initially governed by education board in Britain but in the 1960s it started being governed by the Central Board in Delhi. It is a National level accredited board which is more urban (more cosmopolitan) and focuses more on languages. Exam pattern is 60 % subjective and 40 % objective. The level of math’s and science and other subjects is as per the age appropriate objectives set by the NCF (National Curriculum Framework), the Education governing body of India. CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)-is the other National level Indian Central Board owing to the fact that it is providing quality education to every nook and corner of India. It is 40% and 60% in its approach. 40% subjective and 60% objective. All national level exams are based on the CBSE curriculum. It has a good balance of science and language input. Books used are prescribed by the Board (NCERT books). Classes 9, 10, 11, 12 books and question papers/ pattern are all set by the Board. To reduce the stress level CBSE has Continuous &Comprehensive Evaluation which due to regular evaluation reduces stress to the minimum. In CBSE the whole personality is assessed, writing ability, class work, homework discipline participation in co-curricular activities all these are taken into consideration. The Board focuses on the overall development of the child instead of rote learning. All National Level Exams are based on CBSE so the child is well groomed to take up any competitive examinations in future. It is a progressive board and brings in regular updating for betterment. CBSE– is good if you if you want to appear for the competitive exams otherwise both the Boards are at par with each other and are globally accepted and recognized. It is a progressive board where reforms are introduced as per the topical needs of the students.

What are the activities are being provided to the students?
The school provides age-appropriate activities. Each day two time slots are dedicated to activities wherein the child engages in an activity of his choice. What is the medium of communication? My child does not understand anything except regional language?

Teachers always speak in English as it is the medium of instruction. Initially gestures are used to make students understand the language, this is how the children will learn. We ensure that children are comfortable while grooming them towards better English.

Who is the Principal?

Presently the school is being taken care of by the Principal Mr P Anand Kumar. He is a seasoned educationist who hails from South India. He is an extremely talented and experienced person. He has an experience of more than 15 years of working in some of the most reputed schools in our country. He has also worked as a Principal of CBSE School.

What is the medium of communication? In case my child does not understand anything except local language?

Teachers will always speak in English as that is how the child learns. Initially gestures will be used along with spoken commands to make sure the child understands.

Who is there in the bus/ school transport?

There will be a driver has a license. There a female attendant also. Surprise bus duties shall also be taken up by the teachers. GPS equipped buses which can be tracked on real time basis.

What are the age criteria’s for seeking an admission?
The age criteria are as under Nursery –3 yrs, LKG –4 yrs, UKG 5yrs, I –6 yrs (complete age of the child as of 31st March of that year.

What are the subjects taught?

Grade I-V – English, Hindi, Maths, EVS, Gujarati, Computer, Mental Maths, Logical Reasoning, Value Education, General Knowledge.

Grade VI-VIII – English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Science, Gujarati, Computer, Mental Maths, Logical Reasoning, Value Education, General Knowledge.

Grade IX-X – English, Hindi, Maths, Science, Social Science, PET (Skill Subject)

What kind of curriculum is followed by Primary and Pre-Primary students?
The preprimary curriculum has been discussed in Curriculum Tab and the Primary will follow the curriculum as set by the NCERT.

How will I know that my child is doing well? How often will I be informed?

Apart from the PTM which happens every month, the teacher, if she feels the need to, will communicate to you & arrange a meeting. You too can contact the teacher in the same manner.

What will be the school timings?

Pre-Primary 9.00am to 12.30pm and Std I to XII 7.30am to 1:30pm during Summer

Pre-Primary 9.00am to 12.30pm and Std I to XII 8.00am to 2:00pm during Winter
